Instructions for authors

1. Online Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system of EPISTÉMÈ.

Submission website: https://submit.e-episteme.org/

Authors should create an account, log in to the online submission system, and complete all required submission steps. Manuscripts submitted by e-mail will not normally be considered unless specifically requested by the Editorial Board.

2. Language

EPISTÉMÈ publishes manuscripts in English. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is written in clear, accurate, and academically appropriate English.

3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally include the following elements:

  • 1. Title
  • 2. Author name(s)
  • 3. Author affiliation, country, and e-mail address
  • 4. Abstract
  • 5. Keywords
  • 6. Main text
  • 7. Notes, if necessary
  • 8. References
  • 9. Tables, figures, images, or appendices, if applicable

4. Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should provide a concise and comprehensive summary of the manuscript. It should clearly present the research purpose, main argument or research question, theoretical or methodological approach, major findings, and conclusion.

Abstracts should normally be between 150 and 200 words.

Keywords should be listed after the abstract. Authors should provide 4–6 keywords, separated by commas.

5. Manuscript Formatting

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the journal’s editorial style.

  • • Font: Times New Roman or another standard serif font
  • • Font size: 12 points
  • • Line spacing: 1.5-spaced or double-spaced
  • • Alignment: left-aligned text; full justification should be avoided
  • • Margins: 1 inch / 2.54 cm on all sides
  • • Section headings: numbered, for example, “1. Introduction”
  • • Subsections: numbered with decimals, for example, “1.1”, “1.2”

Authors should follow the manuscript template provided by the journal whenever possible.

6. Citation and References

EPISTÉMÈ follows the APA 7th edition style for in-text citations and references.

Authors should ensure that all sources cited in the text are included in the reference list and that all entries in the reference list are cited in the text.

The reference list should follow APA 7th edition style, including hanging indentation, author names in the form of last name and initials, sentence case for article and book titles, italics for journal titles and book titles, and full DOI or URL links when available.

7. Tables, Figures, and Images

Tables, figures, and images should be clearly numbered and accompanied by appropriate captions. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use any third-party materials, including images, figures, tables, or copyrighted materials. Sources must be clearly indicated where applicable.

8. Compliance with Journal Policies

Authors must comply with the journal’s Ethics & Policies, Copyright Notice, and peer review regulations. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s ethical, editorial, or formatting requirements may be returned to the author for revision or declined before peer review.
